General Building Work

Steve Pride Contract Builders undertake general building work such as Wall Building, Decking and Patios Construction, Roofing Repairs and Replacement, Groundworks and Drainage Installation, and Chimney Stack Rebuilds. We've also recently invested in new construction software which will be up and running shortly and allows us to prepare quotes, parts lists and building materials automatically.

For this dorma window we replaced the new head above the window and reused the original stone to blend with the existing stonework. The old head was cracked and the building was in danger of collapse. The scaffolding helped support the wall while we undertook the work.

The house is in a conservation area so the final look was important for the owners. The pointing was scoured with a corse wire brush, and then with a soft brush to give a natural aged affect when it dries (it's still wet in the picture). The stone plaque dates from 1891 and the building was originally used as a convent. It has since been turned into 4 houses.
